How Can I Improve My Presence of Mind?

Presence of mind is the ability to stay calm and composed, and the ability to act quickly and sensibly. It’s a mixture of our personality and interface.

Now, how can you improve your presence of mind?

Observe, concentration and focus are the key factors of presence of mind. Lack of focus and distracted mind leads to low presence of mind. If you know that you need to be able to replicate the action done by someone, you have to observe them carefully.

Take short breaks. You can be master at focusing but you cannot work continuously on a task as it affects your power of concentration.

Be comfortable. Make sure you’re comfortable with the surrounding environment. If not, then adjust it as per your comfort level or get adjusted to it.

Emotional balance. Everyone has a personal life and hence personal problems and thus we need to learn to keep our personal life separate from professional life.

Solving Puzzles and Interactive Games. Solving puzzles is one of the greatest ways to improve and enhance your presence of mind.

With yoga and meditation. With meditation comes focus. You will put yourself in a serene and peaceful state of mind where all your worries will be relieved and you will bring home the calmness in life. Doing this also eradicates pain and stress. You will eventually land with more presence of mind.

When you play the role of a listener, you have to listen to it with full attention. Listen to things as if you were listening for the last time. This way you can devote yourself to hearing what you come across.

Take breaks in between and make yourself comfortable. Grab a drink or grab your favorite snack. This will refresh your mind and rejuvenate your body and help you pay more attention to your work, increasing your presence of mind.

Doing these too can improve your presence of mind:

  • Read & Write.
  • Keep moving.
  • Do Hypothetical Role Plays and workshop ideas.
  • Listen Attentively.
  • Keep an eye on detail.
  • Stay in touch with your inner self.
  • Make friends with strangers.
  • Take enough rest.
  • Keep off your emotions and stress.
  • Prioritize your tasks.
  • Switch between high and low attention tasks.
